About

Marcy Davis

It all begins with an idea. Maybe an idea that seems impossible, but you know that if it were to work, then you would have found something truly special.

Installation art that intertwines bronze, glass, and plaster has been my selected materials for my body of work within the past two years. My thematic interest in erosion and decomposition has led me to study geology and to create a correlation between installation art and geoscience. Currently, my theoretical inquiry involves creating installations that refer to speleologist’s discovery of C13 damage in caves, to enlighten my community, and to create a better future for the environment and humankind.

I graduated Summa Cum Laude with Honors from the University of Texas in Arlington with a Bachelor in Fine Arts concentrating on Sculpture and a Glass minor. In the summer, I am an assistant glassblower at Camp Chateaugay in New York.

Currently, I attending Texas Christian University for my Masters of Fine arts with an emphasis on Sculpture/ New Media.

Outside of the world of art, I am a manager at a coffee shop and enjoy hiking, traveling, reading mysteries, baking bread, and adding more plants to my inordinate collection.
